Creston Valley Meats

Last Wednesday, I spent an hour driving to South San Francisco to pick up my order, but only to learn that they weren't able to book a hotel, so they are coming the next day instead. The guy who answered my phone call said they were suppose to call me, but "somehow they didn't get my invoice" and "it's not his fault". Not your fault my xxx! You mailed me the invoice the day before with my email address and two phone numbers listed on it. I also followed you on twitter and you didn't even bother mentioning it. I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to human errors or accidents, but that "it's not my fault" just crossed the line. You just lost a customer FOREVER!

Sorry Maya, mommy failed again on getting that green tripe for you...

  1. That stinks. I've heard of some others who have good experiences with them, but I guess that's not always the case.

I've been having quite a hard time finding tripe, despite being surrounded by farms. I'm hoping to get some canned tripe, a brand called Tripett, soon when I go to Arizona for the holiday since they've got boutique and higher-end pet shops there. My little town doesn't have much in terms of that.

  2. Yep, I heard some good reviews too. That's why I wanted to give it a try, but oh well... Sometimes one bad employee can screw up a company's good reputation.

I might give canned tripe a try if still can't get it elsewhere. Seems like Amazon carries a few different brands (including Tripett). You can probably order it online if you have trouble finding it in stores. greentripe.com is also available online, but the shipping cost is a bit high.

  3. Oh no, sorry to hear... =( I've only placed one order with them so far, and am definitely going to try again (my pick-up location is just 10-15 minutes away through normal traffic). But the one time I placed an order, it did strike me how there was a LOT of room for miscommunication in their complicated ordering process. Sadly, I think this is an example of how easily the system can break down.
